Bubblers - This Way
by kellyWisconsin is so sweet. There are no Drinking Fountains or Water Fountains here… only Bubblers. And that’s what my daughter is learning to call it, just like her father, and his parents before him. Her little class takes a walk to the Bubbler when it’s time to take a drink. I’m not a native here, so it still seems unusual to me. But also sweet, in that unique, unselfconscious, Wisconsin way…

I have never heard of “bubblers” but I find it more interesting that “Can Nuts” gets it very own sign along with the locations that have nothing to do with food.

It must have something to do with the german influence of the state I assume. I’ve heard my mother-in-law use that term before. Very interesting!

Actually it was a friend of mine from Wisconsin that used to say “Bubblers”. Lee sent her your blog post, and she thought it was funny. Thanks, K!
